NMI REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 25, 2024
ALABASTER – We have been promoting Alabaster on a (almost!) monthly
basis since this is the 75th anniversary of Alabaster Offering in the Church
of the Nazarene. Monthly videos provided by the global NMI office have
been very well received.
So far we have netted $272 in cookbook sales with the proceeds going to Alabaster. (Jon Hagen
purchased 40 copies, which he donated to Brett to be distributed at Hope Bargain Center and the
Menomonie Campus.) To date, Alabaster Offering totals $1214.80. Today is Alabaster Sunday
and we celebrated with balloons and banners! I anticipate another great offering for February!
CRISIS CARE KITS – We are currently doing a Crisis Care Kit drive. These will be packed in
banana boxes (10 per box) and shipped to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Pennsylvania.
I will be utilizing givebackbox.shop at a cost of only $15 per box.
WORLD EVANGELISM FUND (WEF) – Our Thanksgiving Offering total was $6,883.80,
exceeding our goal of $6,000. We will start promoting the Easter Offering for World Evangelism
on March 3.
NMI NEWSLETTER – In an effort to keep our church informed on what is happening locally and
globally in missions, I have started publishing a monthly newsletter. It is my hope that it will serve
as an effective means of informing and promoting Links, WEF, Alabaster, and other mission-
related projects and upcoming events. Each month will also feature the work of Nazarene
missions in a particular country.
CARE AND CONNECTION – The Wisconsin District has been assigned a new Links
missionary family for the new calendar year. Rev. Márcio and Amber Batista are serving in
Singapore. They are the parents of three youngsters, Joshua (2016), Lucas (2018), and Sophia
(2021). Márcio is a pastor, therapist, and coach from Brazil. Dr. Amber is medically trained and
a marine biologist from Australia. God has now called them to be part of the transformative plan
that He is writing in the Asia-Pacific Region. Márcio and Amber will minister in the areas
of Church Development, Compassionate Ministries, and Mission Mobilization.
I am still getting used to coordinating mission emphases for both campuses. I am thankful for
Joanna, who has been so helpful in promoting and distributing mission-related materials at the
Menomonie campus. I am excited and blessed by the heart for the missional arm of the Church
of the Nazarene as it is lived out at our New Life campuses.
Blessings,
Patty Woodford.
